Hi. I need to copy files between 2 computers. I can connect the 2 computers with ssh. Then when I can see both of them, how can I then copy the wanted files ??. Can I use Midnight Commander, with both computers be shown in each column ?. -- Med venlig hilsen / Best regards /vy73 de oz4kk. Erik Jakobsen - erik@urbakken.dk SuSE Linux 7.3.

Could you give me an example how I shall copy files from "pentium" to "linux" (both are computers here). I have read a bit -little bit- in the scp man, but :-)

scp file_tobe_copied user@linux:/path_to_be copied make sure you have rights to actually write to path_to_be copied -- Togan Muftuoglu How do I type "for i in *.dvi do xdvi i done" in a GUI? (Discussion in comp.os.linux.misc on the intuitiveness of interfaces.)

What does file_tobe_copied means ??. scp /etc/ax25/fbb/fwd root@pentium:/etc/ax25/fbb/fwd Is this sequence right ??.
make sure you have rights to actually write to path_to_be copied

local~> scp <files> <username>@<hostname>:/<directory>
example: scp kwinacqua_ace.tar.gz ben@frell.concentric.net:/home/ben
scp kwinacqua_ace.tar.gz ben@frell.concentric.net: In the above scp will default to the homedir, when nothing specified.
