Kernel 2.4 and above requirements question
Dear All, Could someone please clarify [for me - offlist replies wholeheartedly welcome although may be useful for likeminded people ;o)] I have SuSE 7.0. What is required if I upgrade to kernel 2.4.x? I have a dialup connection and want to use iptables. Which packages can I d/l from SuSE, and others from freshmeat for this upgrade? I know I need kernel 2.4.x [I am d/l 2.4.2 from kernel.org as we speak...] I hear I will need an updated pppd [btw I use pppd/chat to dialup] What [with regards to iptables] will I need to d/l to get firewall/masq in action, also port redirection? The documentation in the source will tell you which version you must have.
