[SLE] Apache error - (please recompile it with -DEAPI)
When apache starts up I get the following error message: "Loaded DSO /usr/lib/apache/mod_jserv.so uses plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI! (please recompile it with -DEAPI)" I'm using Suse 6.4 and the apache provided on the installation CDs with no modifications on my part. I've been running into snags trying to get a perl module running (using O'Reilly's Apache Modules book) and was wondering if the EAPI error might be causing problems. Can anyone give me a lead on: The cause of the error message. Can it be ignored or should be fixed (and how). Does everybody running Suse 6.4 get the same message or could I have done something strange during installation (I don't see how). I've searched the Suse site, dejavu and this newsgroup but haven't come across anyone else having this problem which has me puzzled. Yeah, go to the updates page for 6.4 and get the package jserv update. It specifically says it solves the problem----however, after getting it to boot apache error free, it says it requires some Java package which is not on the Disks. Probably something from Sun. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

I guess it wants the Sun JDK/JRE. This is now bundled on SuSE Linux 7.0. One needs a contract with Sun to be able to bundle it... -- Michael Hasenstein http://www.suse.de/~mha/ SuSE Linux AG, Nuernberg (Germany) SuSE Inc., Oakland, California (US) -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
