Hi. I have a somewhat strange problem with beagle -- trying to run any of it's components results in the following error: -------------- cut ------------ ** (/usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe:30932): WARNING **: The following assembly referenced from /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe could not be loaded: Assembly: gtk-sharp (assemblyref_index=4) Version: 2.0.0.0 Public Key: 35e10195dab3c99f The assembly was not found in the Global Assembly Cache, a path listed in the MONO_PATH environment variable, or in the location of the executing assembly (/usr/lib/beagle). ** (/usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe:30932): WARNING **: Missing method InitCheck in assembly /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe, type Gtk.Application Unhandled Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object Beagle Daemon exited with errors. See ~/.beagle/Log/current-Beagle for more details. ------------- cut ----------- The ~/.beagle directory seems to be missing at all. All the packages it should have heeded (like mono and gtk-sharp) are installed, but it appears it couldn't find them. Any ideas what it could be? -- Best regards, Alexander.

This one is resolved. The problem was that I was too brave adding external repositories and included supplementary/GNOME. However there is a second question -- how do I make beagle to start up upon login and to respond to the hotkeys? -- Best regards, Alexander.

What do you think respond to the hotkeys? If you want to start beagled (! beagled is deamon) put it in ~.profile -- Pavel Nemec package-maintainer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SuSE CR, s.r.o. e-mail: pnemec@suse.cz Drahobejlova 27 tel:+420 2 9654 2373 190 00 Praha 9 fax:+420 2 9654 2374 Ceska republika http://www.suse.cz

if you create a file .runbeagle in your homedirectory beagle deamon will start automatically. you can do
touch .runbeagle for it. in the gnome-control-center there is a point search and indexing where you can set best (the search tool) and the hotkey to on.

Am I missing something, or it is really documented only in the release notes of 9.3?
touch .runbeagle

But this hotkey didn't worked for KDE. Does it needs gnome-settings-daemon running? But, anyway, I have already removed beagle, as in the few test-cases it shoved to be quite ineffective :( It's really pity -- I have expected much more from it. -- Best regards, Alexander.
