Only have one parallel port which uses lpt1 so I'm using lp0.

Hi, Have you tried sending a file directly to /dev/lp0 to prove the port is working? cat <file> >/dev/lp0 The <file> should be file suitable for printing on your printer. e.g. a plain text file. You will have to be root to use this command because of the default permissions set for this device excude users from directly accessing it.
