Stuck on a hot plug..
Things have been going great with my SuSE 8.1 Pro until I tried to import my old addressbook data to my new addressbook for kmail. Then I got a complete crash. But on a reboot I cannot get past this line: " starting hotplugging services [ net pci usb . . " I remember seeing a message about an addressbook problem and saved it but of course have not gotten around to doing backups. Also I remember seeing something about hotplug problems. Can anyone get me out of this or do I have to do a new install? Thanks.. Jack aa6vn@pacbell.net

I had the same problem with SuSE 8.0 So I disabled the hotplug script, I think it was /etc/rc.d/hotplug to let my system boot again. just put an 'exit' somewhere at the beginning. Later after an online update I restored the script and everything went ok --Kees

OK, many thanks. I found I could reboot by turning off my HP PSC 950xi printer but of course that did not solve the problem. If it occurs again I'll try the update. Jack
