When I had 8.0 Evolution and spell checking worked fine. I upgraded to 8.2 then added Rubber Turnip's Evolution (used to be Ximian) and I can't get spell checking to work. I added all the following files from RT also: aspell, gal2, gnome-spell, gtkhtml, libgsf from the Rubber Turnip site also. No luck. Any thoughts? If I uninstall Evolution, am I going to lose my email folders? Thanks, Tom -- Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com

Just a couple of notes... The following packages do not impact on Evolution 1.2.x: gal2-0 libgsf Did you install an aspell dictionary? aspell-en is on my site Uninstalling Evolution will not remove your mail folders, as they are stored in $HOME/evolution - which is not part of the package listing. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1). Yes, I do have your aspell-en 0.50.2 AND (now that I look) I have aspell 0.50.2-74. Problem? Tom -- Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com

Nope, aspell itself is the program and libraries, aspell-en is just the English dictionary. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1). I'm not sure, but Travis mentioned that I should run ldconfig. I thought I did...but I guess not. I ran it and the Spell Check works now. Thanks Travis!! Tom On Mon, 2003-04-28 at 23:06, James Ogley wrote:

I've downloaded all the Evo stuff from usr-local-bin.org, but I want to know something first: do I need to uninstall the SuSE versions of the RPM's or do I install over them? On Tue, 2003-04-29 at 12:17, Tom Nielsen wrote:

I installed the versions that came with 8.2, then downloaded the RT versions and did an upgrade via Kpackage. Seemed to work fine. Just run 'SuSEconfig' and 'ldconfig' after you upgrade. I don't know if it made a difference, but I also ran 'killev' before I upgraded. Tom On Tue, 2003-04-29 at 17:46, Greg Macek wrote:

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give it a try tomorrow. :) On Tue, 2003-04-29 at 21:49, Tom Nielsen wrote:
