Hello, I was just about getting to the finer points of tuning up the system the other day when I had an accident. This isn't like me at all. I had changed a few things in /etc/rc.config and in /opt/kde/share/config/kdmrc when I slipped on the keyboard and rebooted the system. I was unable to run /sbin/SuSEconfig before this happened. When the machine came back up again I was pleased to see that the KDE loaded and the display manager appeared on the screen asking me to login. I keyed in "root" and then tried to key in the password. The keyboard works fine. I couldn't even key a single letter in to the "Password" slot. I have been able to launch the rescue system and have then found that I can't run /sbin/SuSEconfig from there. I have looked up various Howtos and man pages. Can't find anything about running SuSEconfig from the rescue system command line. Does anyone have any idea how I get out of this one ? I could always re-install the system, I'd like to stay away from that if I can.
