Hi,
Is there a way to change the title bar contents of each Firefox window separately?
For example, I could name one window "Bugzillas", another "YouTube's", another "pending", etc. Hopefully the names would show on the task bar. It would make things easier.
Does this thing exist?

Well googling 'firefox window title' throws up at least
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/window-titler/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-url-to-window-title/
You can do the search yourself to find any more :)

Thanks :-)
I'm not very good at searching, but anyway, I was hoping for the personal experience touch ;-)

I generally only use tabbed browsing, but for every tab, the displayed window title seems to be taken from the <title> in the page source. I have no idea if this is something that can be set in FF preferences.

Ah, but I do not mean that one. Each tab has a tittle it gets from the page it displays. But I mean the tittle of the window that may hold a dozen tabs. Currently it gets the same text as the selected tab in that window.
I want instead a fixed main title for the window, of my own, even if it has a dozen tabs inside.

Well, yes and no. There is/was an addon called "Customize Titlebar". Unfortunately it works only with pre quantum firefox versions. You can configure it what to show, user specified text and/or web page title text or both. There are similar addons for firefox quantum but if I remember correctly they get the title from the active tab, therefore the main title always shows the title of the active tab. For some reason it is not possible to change this and show a specified text. (If there is an addon that can do it, please send a note.) In my opinion this is useless for what you want to achieve, that is to show a specific title for each firefox profile.
Best,
Istvan

I have tried it in a new profile (test) and it does work. Apparently :-)
