Hi, Although I am an experienced Linux user (slackware and redhat until now), I am completely new to suse. I need to orient myselft with suse configuration and the suse specific customizations. Are there any documents for the user migrating to suse? Is there a reference for the suse configuration files and scripts? Thank you

Yes there is... For each package (RPM) prepared by SuSE, the preparer has added notes for you in /usr/share/doc/packages/README.SuSE Here they document any SuSE specific adjustments to the package. As a general tip, stick to YAST2 as much as possible. Alot of the the configuration is done via Yast2-->System-->Editor for sysconfig... Use the search function to find a keyword, then scan the neighboring paramters.... Good Luck Jerry

The pro version came with 2 manuals: User guide and Administration guide. They are fairly beefy volumes, as well. I haven't really cracked them open yet, so someone else here would have to tell you if they're any good... At 08:48 AM 5/16/2004, you wrote:
