[opensuse] gtk-window-decorator user settings
Hi I'm running openSUSE 10.12 and having problems using compiz with my user account. So far, I noticed these applications failing to load: alessandro@Aleph:~> gnome-xgl-settings ** (bug-buddy:8814): WARNING **: Impossibile caricare l'icona per Apri cartella ** (bug-buddy:8814): WARNING **: Impossibile caricare l'icona per Browser dei componenti Bonobo Failed to read a valid object file image from memory. alessandro@Aleph:~> gtk-window-decorator gtk-window-decorator: Could not acquire decoration manager selection on screen 0 display ":0.0" Beryl is working, I can select Compiz from beryl-manager, but without window decoration. It must be something bound to my user specific settings, since other accounts do not have these problems. Maybe some setting inherited from 10.1 are conflicting somewhere? I have no idea where to look at without invoking autodestruction. Alessandro -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I think there is an initialization issue that is floating around. My first question is is beryl-xgl running in your session. If it is not, you will not get the windows decoration running. ps -ef | grep beryl -- Joseph Loo jloo@acm.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

ps -ef | grep beryl
alessandro@Aleph:~> ps -ef | grep beryl 1000 4929 1 0 19:05 ? 00:00:00 beryl-manager 1000 6688 4929 0 19:41 ? 00:00:00 beryl-xgl 1000 6734 6722 0 19:43 pts/0 00:00:00 grep beryl at the moment I'm using beryl & emerald decorator with no problem at all. From what I can see, it looks like I can load compiz, but for some strange reason I cannot get its default window decorator. I see what you are talking about. I originally thought you were having problems with Beryl windows decoration. I had some problem getting the windows decorator show up on my other accounts on the machine. -- Joseph Loo jloo@acm.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
