http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/2011-12/msg03833.html Sounds like I need to install the nVidia drivers. Looking at documentation for 12.1. The following info is given: Protocol: HTTP Server Name: : download.nvidia.com Directory on Server: /opensuse/12.1
Yast repositories input requires 1) Media Type. I checked the HTTP button 2) Repository Name. Not sure what to type here. Tried download.nvidia.com as well as opensuse/12.1 3) URL: Tried download.nvidia.com, http//download.nvidia.com and variations on opensuse. Has anyone on the list setup the nvidia repository and if so how? Looking forward to running xine under OpenSuSE 12.1 Thanks Terry Eck -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

But isn't the nVidia repo already there in the list of repos and all you need is to select it by simply ticking it? (Yast>Software Repositories>Add [a repository]>Community Repositories.) Thanks Basil for the pointer. xine now works but still has problems with some file formats. At least I'm making progress. Appears that installing nVidia drivers have affected the ability to play sof and wolfenstein. I'm happy for now and will have to add sof and wolf to my "to do list". I normally do not use xine, and have a feeling that xine had (for me at least) problem with being able to play all audio/video formats. However, I use vlc and this plays all formats. (MPlayer, BTW, is also supposed to play all formats.) BC -- The vulgar crowd always is taken by appearances, and the world consists chiefly of the vulgar. Any way there is a Nvidia checkbox on community repos and easier to install. Just be sure the media type to transfer packages is HTTP (not FTP) Regards, -- Ricardo Chung | Panama Linux Ambassador openSUSE Projects -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
