[opensuse] color problem in leap
Hello, Leap seems to have some color problem, and I can't solve changing theme. I already noticed the standard (default) kde color scheme have some minor contrast problems not worth a discussion. But I have now problems with one application. This application is not an open source one, so I waited to ask here, but there is no problem in Debian Jessie... and the application programmer do not have neither with his Ubuntu. See the three screen copies here: http://dodin.org/owncloud/index.php/s/vYQ5ImJf1ZXvl1T taken from the same VirtualBox host (Leap) in three guesses (Leap, Windows 7 and Jessie - the file name is clear). The problem is in the bottom. Jessie and Windows perfectly shows colors and so buttons, when Leap do not show buttons background colors, so making the button nearly invisible. The application is VueScan from https://www.hamrick.com/, a very largely used scan program and Hamrick is very linux friendly (but not openSUSE user :-() any idea? thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I finaly found the solution. Don't know if it's a bug, but... At least for kde, go to the control panel, application appearance (I translate from french), GNOME/GTK application style, and for GTK2 choose... the default (Clearlooks). That is press the "default" in the bottom of the panel. For whatever reason, the openSUSE install setup is not the kde default (including in openSUSE-branding), but the BreezyGTK that gives the odd result. Many other setups are also suboptimal, but Clearlooks works perfectly. jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This partially reminds me of a problem I had on Plasma 5 on TW/Leap, where when hovering over areas in the GUI of a GTK application where a tool tip pops up (such the "cut" button in Audacity) and the text and background are unreadable; the text would be white and the background grey. It doesn't seem to be happening now as I just checked, so you may try Tumbleweed to rule out if it's a bug that has gotten fixed with the latest KDE libraries and frameworks, or use the current KDE repos for Leap. Now I'm curious trying the scanning app on a spare box to see the result I get. sdm -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
By the way, I'm using "Breeze" under "Look And Feel" and "Breeze Dark" under Desktop Theme. But I think you wrote it's a GTK app, so I don't know if that helps or not. Those two combinations seem to work well, with Breeze window decorations. I remember reading on here someone was having issues with "Plastik". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have seen this sometime, but at the moment it was not important enough for me to find a solution :-) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
