KDE 3.3 - Konsole doesn't show up in the taskbar anymore
For some odd reason, Konsole does not show up in the taskbar anymore. All of the other programs I'm running are there, but Konsole just isn't, independent of the desktop I start it on. Anyone got similar problems? Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

Hmm, it appears more programs are suffering from this problem. Something tells me that at this rate I might not reinstall KDE 3.3 when I install my new computer. There's just too many small things not working quite right. Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

It appears this problem may have had something to do with the child panel I had active. Now that I've removed the child panel, the taskbar seems to be operating as it should. I'll keep an eye on this one... Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

[This is a SuSE/KDE issue, and IMHO it would have been better posted at suse-kde ;) ] Yes, there is an issue with kicker. See the thread with subject "[suse-kde] Kicker broken in current KDE-3.3.0?" that I started on the suse-kde mailinglist. BTW, what applets did you have in the childpanel, kdictionary-applet or ksysguard-applet? Cheers, Leen

Nothing special really; just some clickable icons to execute programs (mozilla, Konqueror, Kmail, etc.). All the 'dangerous' stuff was on the normal taskbar. Regards, Pieter Hulshoff

Please read the thread on suse-kde. If you experienced the same symptoms, then IMO you should continue on that thread instead of here. :) BTW, it is still in an unsolved state. ;) Cheers, Leen

May be, as I've always slapped KDE updates on using "rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force *.epm" in base, the applications and then development. NEVER have I seen a problem - may be my luck will change with 3.4??. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer =====LINUX ONLY USED HERE=====
