[opensuse] kgpg busted
I tried running Kgpg today and it didn't run. Even when trying from the command line, it doesn't open and there is no error. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but it still fails. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Forgot to mention, this happens on 2 computers, both running 13.1 64 bit. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Appears it "requires" some parameter as it will work when provided with one: kgpg --help Usage: kgpg [Qt-options] [KDE-options] [options] [File] KGpg - simple gui for gpg KGpg was designed to make gpg very easy to use. I tried to make it as secure as possible. Hope you enjoy it. That works. However, the KDE menu has kgpg %U, which used to work. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Appears the "file_open" dialogue is broken. You *should* make a bug report and perhaps cite this thread. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Why would you want to use this from the KDE menu? There is no way to select the file from the KDE menu, so you would be asking it to encrypt/decrypt what? The only rational way to use it is from Dolphin via the context menu when you select a file. The KDE Menu item should probably have the %U changed to -d which opens the editor so that you can create a new text file that you can encrypt and save or you could set it to -k to open the key file. Do that by editing the KDE menus (right click the kde menu button. -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Works from the command line fine in my testing. Encrypting: kgpg -e junk.file (Pop up requires that I select a key from my known keys) new file junk.file.asc is created. Decrypting kgpg junk.file.asc requests key entry Puts out original file, (warning of overlay). I think this thing is intended to be uses from within dolphin or by the mail chain, etc. - -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlMXdyYACgkQv7M3G5+2DLKlSwCgkVsBUVBvBKKrARlz01VcBsCT 9xAAnjXbtGdpMsYLISGAvQ0Sbcz2Vq5X =5fPM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If I run it from the terminal, it runs and appears to silently exit: cer@Telcontar:~> kgpg QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible: No Icon set cer@Telcontar:~> BUT, the kgpg icon appears on the application area. When I click on it, I get its the dialog. I can also right-click on the menu on the application area, and I get a context menu. I'm testing this while my desktop is XFCE. I see no problem. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Ditto here. If you check a system monitor, you will probably find that kgpg is active; it simply failed to open up the necessary window!! I'm running the latest available update from the update server, in openSUSE 12.3: ~> rpm -q kgpg kgpg-4.10.5-1.92.2.x86_64 In the application launcher, change the command from "kgpg %U" to "kgpg -k". (If you need to manage several different keyrings, I suppose you will need to use "kgpg -k %U" instead.) Of course, this will mean you will have to do other tasks, such as encrypting a file, from the command line. Run "kgpg --help-all" to list all available options, including those which are specific to KDE or Qt. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
