Hi all, This is the same machine with the SiS 300/305 card. Machine boots, gives a bunch of errors - something about DMA, CRC errors, and IO errors. Add ide=nodma to the kernel params, and it boots fine, but runs very slowly. My first thought was that it's the hard drive, but I plugged it into another machine and it boots fine in normal mode. So both hard disk and cable checked out fine. This is not SuSE specific either, RedHat did the same. The memory seem to be fine too. Could it be the IDE controllers acting up? The board is a Gigabyte ga-6vm7a+ board - VIA chipset for Celeron/PII/III. I've had nothing but trouble with VIA chipsets before, this wouldn't surprise me at all.
