restricting an application's maximum memory useage?
Is there a way (easy way) to restrict the amount of memory an application can occupy? For example, there are times Mozilla builds leak memory and fill up my system. I'd like to be able to specify a maximum amount of memory Mozilla could fill before it was stopped by the OS. I have the feeling this is one of those "you've been using linux for 3 1/2 years and still don't know how to do that?" questions. Nonetheless, I don't know how to do that. If you use the bash shell it will let you control some stuff. Type: $ help ulimit
