[opensuse] Re: help temperature sensors openSUSE 11.4
the applet seems to be inactive since 20 April 2007; our best hope is to await and get the other temperature plugin working on 64 bits, :( where can we fill a bug report? 2011/3/21 Marco Calistri <marco.calistri@yahoo.com.br>:

hello Marco,
see if the 'sensors' command in the shell is able to show you the temp. maybe it's just a problem with the temperature applet.
Leonardo, yes sensors is showing CPU Temp correctly.
May be applet is buggy.
Cheers!

Hello and thanks everyone for the answers.
i got the hddtemp and that one shows me the hd temperature; it also shows correctly on sensor applet.
i tried to install sensors and sensorsd, and if i invoke sensors from the command line it shows correctly the main board and processor temperatures. but the gnome applet does not shows it.
here's some screenshots about applet behavior: http://img402.imageshack.us/i/hdtemp.png/ http://img851.imageshack.us/i/kerneli2csensors.png/
and finally the sample output from hddtemp and sensors:
cecil:/home/sombriks # hddtemp /dev/sda /dev/sda: WDC WD1600BEVT-60ZCT1: 55°C cecil:/home/sombriks #
ecil:/home/sombriks # sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +78.0°C
k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1: +84.2°C (high = +70.0°C)
cecil:/home/sombriks #
here's the cpuinfo:
i'm using 11.4 64 bits.
seems that sensors can give me the temperature, it's just the applet who doesn't.
again, thanks in advance for any help.

(from package "sensors") Hi Also for hard disk temperatures you would need to install hddtemp from packman.

I would like to report that I met exactly same issue: applet is not working for CPUTEMP.
