Hello SuSE people, I have 3 old kernels in my /usr/src. They take up a lot of space. I'd like to get rid of them but I get really chicken when it comes to deleting kernels. Is it safe? If you're not running those kernels anymore, you can nuke the source, and you can also nuke the kernels from /boot as well. You should keep a copy of the source for the kernel you are currently running, if you ever have occasion to build drivers or other kernel modules. Prerequisite is to know whether you do not actually need the kernels anymore. The rest is easy.. 1. you use rpmized kernels, so use rpm/YourFavoritePackageManager to remove them 2. you compiled and installed them yourself, so you also know how to remove it again.
