I just upgraded to kde 2.1.1, and everything is working fine, except for the kdm background. It defaults to a SuSE standard grey background with the chamaeleon. Probably the best way to change that is to login as root and goto control center-system-login manager-background. Then you can select from a dropdown box or browse.
