[opensuse] full hd with intel
Hello, I got an asus laptop S400C that works fairly well with openSUSE however, I have a video problem. internal lcd works perfectly (1366x768), but external (hdmi) don't accept more than 1440x900 when Windows 8 accepts the full HD 1920x1080 (on compatible monitor, of course). Kde setup do not allow more video seems to be Intel 3rd Gen Core i915 any idea? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don't know about that specific laptop and I don't know about the intel, but I can't see that KDE is the limit here. I use nvidia and I can tell my driver to go up to 2650xwhatever. It upsets my LCD screen, mind you :-( But KDE is not your problem. -- "Television is a medium because it is neither rare nor well done." -- Fred Friendly -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

/sbin/lspci -nnk |grep VGA -A3

IS the HDMI connector wired through the same video chip ? I have a laptop that has the HDMI port driven by NVIDIA card, the displayport driven by the intel chip and the builtin display can be driven by either..it is a "joy" to do something with it ;) -- Cristian "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody." -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

no idea. I don't see any other video chip in the specs and on windows (8), the two screens are managed by the intel driver thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
