[opensuse] tsclient equivalent for oS?
Hi all, In the past I've used the application tsclient, which is quite helpful because it keeps all of my vnc and rdp connections in a nice clickable interface. However, it's no longer supported. Does anyone use something similar? Chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Usually this functionality has moved into the vnc/rdp clients themselves. So something like tiger-vnc or krdc have the ability to remember your connections (and passwords, in most cases) each time you launch them. I've used both. They seem to work fine. Perhaps the DE you've chosen (but not mentioned) already has such a feature installed. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm using KDE on Tumbleweed :) I guess the big thing that I'm wanting to overcome is that I use several different applications; for example, most of my connections I just use the functionality built into tsclient (for vnc and old remote desktop clients.) However, newer Windows servers don't work with rdesktop, so I have to use xfreerdp with them. tsclient was awesome in that it let me use both the built-in and "third party" functionality, so that I could have all of my connections saved under one GUI. well krdc is part of kde, and it handles vnc and rdp. (I believe it has a dependency of xfreerdp) Costs nothing to give it a try. I've only used the vnc option, not the RDP, so I can't say how well it works for RDP (I've never trusted rdp much). -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The rdp is pretty good for windows 7, and 2008r2. Interestingly enough, the vnc isn't as good as native "screen sharing" on OS X. Not sure why that is. VNC should just be VNC, but...

Awesome, thanks very much! krdc is exactly what I was looking for. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
