Press <RETURN> to see video modes available. Choose one you like, and put it in lilo.conf: vga = <video mode of choice> run lilo Enjoy :) HTH Jon Clausen

Press <RETURN> to see video modes available.
Choose one you like, and put it in lilo.conf:
vga = <video mode of choice>
run lilo
I cannot get that working. The first proposed mode is a line with 0 0F00 80x25 If I write in lilo.conf VGA = 0 lilo runs fine, but the error is still there. If I write in lilo.conf VGA = 0F00 lilo says Fatal: Not a number: "0F00" It is a server, and X has not been started yet. The original line was VGA = 785 and the problem started when I moved the HD to another machine without moving the video-card. mvh... Morten Christensen

Mine looks this: image = /boot/vmlinuz label = linux root = /dev/hda6 vga = 791 initrd = /boot/initrd append = " hdc=ide-scsi" It's nice on my laptop. /Dee

vga = 791 was accepted by lilo, but did not stop the boot-stop. mvh... Morten Christensen

Did you "re-run" mk_initrd & lilo ? /Dee

Valid values are | 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 ------+------------------------------------- 256 | 769 771 773 775 32k | 784 787 790 793 64k | 785 788 791 794 16M | 786 789 792 795 (taken from /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt) Pick the value that fits the capability of your video card/monitor regards Anders

that's mean the video card doesn't support the resolution 1024x768.
