Hi, Having a problem uploading an index.html to my web space via the command line. I am in the correct remote directory and I think I am issuing the correct commands but the file is not uploaded. I am transfering using binary with hash marks enabled. Below are some of the 'error' messages I have been receiving: ftp> put index.html local: index.html remote: index.html 227 Entering Passive Mode (196,xx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx). 503 No PORT command issued first. Finding out what the command PORT meant and turning it off: ftp> ? sendport sendport toggle use of PORT cmd for each data connection ftp> sendport Use of PORT cmds off. ftp> lcd /mnt/floppy Local directory now /mnt/floppy ftp> put index.html local: index.html remote: index.html 227 Entering Passive Mode (196,xx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx). 503 No PORT command issued first. I thought PORT commands where turned off?? All I need to do is upload a single file and I cannot see what I am doing wrong? This may or may not help you, but I find it *much* easier to use ncftp (also on the SuSE disks) for command line ftp work. -- GPG fingerprint = 3D45 5509 D380 26A4 523E A9D8 A66A 5F38 CA43 BB0E

I think it wants them ON.

Try another ftp client. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
