I've even had times when after installing the new version of glibnack-2.02 it would break one or more programs that would only work with glibnack-2.0. It usually came down to the install program changing necessary links or such. Reguardless it's a nightmare no one wants to deal with.

Case in point: the discussion in some other threads of Netscape plugins that require libc5 libraries rather than glibc2 libraries, even though the newest version of Netscape uses glibc2 (do I have that right?).
