RE: [SLE] Getting Java to Work in KDE
I had no problems getting it to work with the Blackdown JRE (1.3.1). http://www.blackdown.org Tim Harrell

I'm having trouble getting Konqi to display Java applets. I've been trying to get it to use IBM's Java2 JRE 1.3 (included with SuSE 7.1), and it will activate the JRE, but it never gets past the "Loading Applet" message. Any ideas? Suggestions for a better JRE?
Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the tip, Tim. I'll be checking this out. Re. Tim Butler's original post. There are incompatibilities between Konqueror and Sun's 1.3 JVM. According to Konqueror's homepage, Sun's 1.3 JVM is not supported, but work is going on to fix the problems. Has anyone using KDE 2.2 got a result with Sun 1.3 JVM and Konqueror? More information on these are available from the Konqueror Java HOWTO at http://www.konqueror.org/konq-java.html and their general information page http://www.konqueror.org/konq-browser.html. M
