Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem I am remotely administering a Suse linux server on an s/390.Everything seemed to be going okay till today.I am suddenly getting a wierd error when i try to install some programs. It says something like this- error in loading shared libraries: libz.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. I cannot run the man command also,it gives me the ame error. I thought that I may have accidently deleted the file and so I downloaded and installed the following rpm: zlib-1.1.3-5.src.rpm which has the required file. The installation of this rpm seems to go smoothly with the complementary ######### . However this didnt seem to help as i keep getting the same error. On doing a locate libz.so.1 it shows me that the file is in /usr/local.But on doing an ls on the directory i cant find it. I really cant figure out how to proceed next. Can anyone please help? thanks RS __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
