[SuSE Linux] kppd - Modem USR Modem string?
Hi everyone - does anyone have a modem init string that will work for a US Robotics Sporster Flash? I've struggled for two days to try and get PPP to work. I seem to remember that months ago when I got Redhat 5 to work, I eventually found it was the modem string that was giving me grief. (It always puzzles me that setting up PPP with Linux is so difficult!) many thanks Richard King Johannesburg <A HREF="http://www.channelafrica.org"><A HREF="http://www.channelafrica.org</A">http://www.channelafrica.org</A</A>> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

<snip> I'd try firing up minicom and then this: ATS0=0S2=255S11=55X4&C1&D2&W <enter> <-- you should get a OK response from your modem after hitting the enter key. Also, make sure minicom is setup to reflect your correct baud rate. (i.e., 19200, 36000, 57600, 115200.) PRIOR to the above init string. This use a init string of ATZ.
