Now FF is out of beta perhaps it will work. Ill send the above link to the box I am using 1.5 on.
BTW: Firefox has been out of beta for quite a while. The stock version on SuSE 10.0 is 1.07.
The way the pdf plugin should be installed to work is: 1. find out where firefox is installed: /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib on SuSE stock releases.
2. in /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/plugins, you need to remove the symlink to nppdf.so.
3. in /usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat7/Browser, there is a text file, Browser_Plugin_HowTo.txt. There is also a script: install_browser_plugin Run this script (as root), and install the plugin in /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib when it prompts you. This will copy nppdf.so to the /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/plugins directory.
At this point, you should be able to bring up a pdf properly from Firefox. (Note: If you are not using Firefox from the standard SuSE location (/opt) it may be in /usr/local/MozillaFirefox/lib.
