No, that's when *everybody* gets it. In times past, we've gotten access to the gold master ahead of the crowd, as a reward for all our beta testing efforts. Joe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

For now 'zypper dup' from RC1 will bring installation to the GM status. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Indeed. Doing it right now as a matter of fact. But I'd expect to have to do it once more tomorrow or the next day also, I'd think. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

sudo zypper dup gave me the same packages that were released about 2 days ago. A few bugs I'd still like to see get fixed (ie KNetworkManager does not communicate with YaST on the connection like previous versions (not sure if it's only Knetworkmanager or NetworkManager in general, bug is already filed)). I hope the 11.0 OSS / NON-OSS repos get built soon so I can switch over to them. All in all I really like it so far. I actually am running RC on my production machine (a Dell D820) and haven't had any issues with it. I really believe it's a no brainer upgrade from openSUSE 10.3 into the 11.0 family. I am glad I did not wait for 11.1 like I originally planned for my production box. Once I swap my repos from Factory to the 11.0 stable family i'll be throwing on a ton of repos :D -- Ben Kevan " The brain is like a parachute, it doesn't work very well if it can't be opened." www.benkevan.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'll do that on the boxes that have rc1 installed... for new servers it'd be nice to have the media though. I guess I'll talk to our Novell guy at work tomorrow and see if he can grab a copy. Hope they fix some of the outstanding bugs in the kernel.

Which ones would that be? And you *did* report them all, didn't you? And you did it in opensuse-factory where it *would* be seen by those administering the build? Just posturing is fine. It is like "I do understand that stuff", but it shows just opposite. It is Linux (kernel) and there is always something under construction. It is like talking about large city with all constructions finished. Not impossible, but very unlikely. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I like the analogy to the city. I have an issue here with users wanting beta software and wondering why things change. Sort of a catch22. Fix it / add features, but don't change anything... I am going to modify that and add it to my signature. Hope that is OK. It sums up my work situation nicely. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Kapellgränd 7 P.O. Bug reports were filed. Problems with dual core suspends has not been addressed. Worked in 10.3 and the Alphas with 2.6.24, broke in 25. Ricoh multicard readers cause crashes in 11, but not in 10.3. Bug report closed with works for me. RTL8180 driver only works if wireless turned on at boot time. Bug report filed with bugzilla.kernel.org Current knetworkmanager does not rescan wireless connections. Patch is reported in SVN but has not been pushed out. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

No, Factory repo was frozen on 5th at RC1 state and will after release contain what will become openSUSE 11.1. Wait for the official openSUSE 11.0 repo. Bye, Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks for info. I was convinced that announcement that came after RC1 and some updates on RC1 was talking about that status as frozen. It is not long time to wait anyway. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
