[opensuse] apache log entries wpad 404
My netgear WGT624v3 bit the dust and I became in possession of a cisco E2500. All apparently works properly, some better, but.... My apache log is filling with: 192.168.1.1 - - [28/Jan/2012:17:09:28 -0500] "GET /wpad.dat HTTP/1.1" 404 1043 "-" "-" and 192.168.1.1 - - [28/Jan/2012:14:01:21 -0500] "GET /wpad.dat HTTP/1.1" 404 1043 "-" "System.Net.AutoWebProxyScriptEngine/2.0.50727.5448" I solved the multiple access attempts due to page-not-found by adding a zero bite file /srv/www/htdocs/wpad.dat, but still get log entries that I didn't get with the netgear router. I see that wpad is a "proxy look up" table... which I don't see any use for. How can I configure the system/router to not attempt wpad.dat lookups? google explains much, maybe too much, but offers no plausable solution to my problem that I have discovered. I seriously believe it is directly related to the cisco E2500 router as I never had the log entries before installing/configuring the router on 11 Jan 2012. tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
