How does anyone know how to initiate Gnome on SuSE
Linux 6.1? I tried
startx gnome, but that didn't work...do I need to change some settings in some system file? I would like the ability to run both KDE and Gnome if possible
Assuming you are using the graphical login screen you can add gnome to the list of choices. This way everytime you login you can choose. Login to root and edit the login manager from KDE control centre. I think that's it. I'm not running root right now. All you need to do is add gnome to the list.

I don't think I did anything else. When you say it didn't work did any of it work? Did it show up in the KDE login list of choices? If so what error message did it give you? Nick -- --------------------- Nick Zentena SuSE 6.1 Linux 2.2.10 ---------------------
