SuSE 7.2 installation problem on existing system
Hi all, I have a system with windows 2000 on it. I need to install SuSE 7.2 to run on the same pc. My problem is when I try to do the install, I get an error saying that SuSE must be installed on the highest partition number. The disk looks like this: partition type size 1 msdos 2gb 2 linux swap 500m 3 linux ext2 4.5 gb 4 ntfs windows 2000 The original system had: partition type size 1 msdos 2gb 2 ntfs windows 2000 11gb I used partition magic to resize the ntfs partition down to 6gb. Unfortunately when I did this, the empty space was left in the middle of the disk not the end. Now I seem to be stuck. Is there a way to renumber the partitions, or can I force SuSE to go into partition 3 rather than 4?
I would swap, the swap with the ext2 making the ext2 the second partition. anyway, thats weird that it says that. Maybe since you don't have a /boot you need to put suse or win2000 on the first partition. it's a thought. On Monday 04 February 2002 11:44 pm, you wrote:
