Hello SuSE folkz, Could somebody tell me please how to substitute From: header content on something different when it's being sent through the mailing list. I'm using majordomo and sendmail. Generally I want to achieve this: When mailing list recipient is getting mail from the list he/she should see in the header the mailing list name and e-mail address but not the name and address of the sender. If you also use procmail, then add this rule somewhere in your .procmailrc: :0f * ^X-Mailinglist: suse-linux-e | /usr/bin/formail -bfi "Reply-To:suse-linux-e@suse.com" :0 a: $HOME/Mail/lists/suse-linux-e Somebody in this list told me this, and it does work :-)

Look, now 2 people have replied on the list with what is basically the same useless answer. I am not the original poster, but please READ THE QUESTION before you answer it. His situation is: He has a server running sendmail. He has 1 or more mailinglists run from that server. The mailing list manager is majordomo. And his question is: How can I hide the address of my subscribers and replace it with the address of my mailing list? To Alex: I hope my rewriting of your question will help you get better answers. Don't SHOUT, and be polite, please. I did read the question; I have just reread it, again, and it is not clear to me, on its words alone. The fact that two people missunderstood the question and came out with similar answers is proof enough that the wording was missleading at least. Being that the case, just re-word the question, or explain, and we, or somebody else, will try to answer. But be polite, please! MTA's are not supposed to mess with the body of a mail. Use a MDA, like procmail, together with formail for that. :0 fw * ^X-Mailinglist:.*suse-linux-e |formail -I From: SuSE-E List Theo -- Theo v.
