[SLE] Netscape 4.75 gives bus error
I've just downloaded Netscape 4.75 (for Linux 2.2, English version, 128 bits). When I installed it and started it up, I very soon got a "Bus error" message and the program died. Has anyone else seen this problem? Solved it? Alas, I'm sending this message using Netscape under Win98. hi it happedned to me also. interestingly, it only happened to one website. all other websites opened fine. but i'm using both 4.73 and the 4.70 ( one with 6.3). both gave bus error and died. i think it got something to do with the webpage itself. regards cheedu On Mon, 21 Aug 2000, Paul W. It happedned to me also. interestingly, it only happened to one website. all other websites opened fine. but i'm using both 4.73 and the 4.70 ( one with 6.3). both gave bus error and died. i think it got something to do with the webpage itself.
I think you've encountered a different problem since my bus error happened before the Netscape screen even came up. But your case still might be related to the cache. I'd suggest deleting the cache subdirectory of .netscape and seeing if you still have that problem with that particular website.
