Hope you got this sorted - assuming you can see your tape drive hanging off the scsi bus, try using Arkeia, the backup program in PAY. It's pretty good, keeps a database of all backups, & has a nice "megabyteometer" for those that like gimmicky interfaces :)). The installation on SuSE 6.3 even works ! BTW, you can dld the latest version as glibc 2.2 rpms from www.knox-software.com for free.
