[opensuse] Adobe flash crash -- cycling round and round ... a KDE4.7 problem ?
If I visit YouTube I can't view the videos I get Adobe flash crashing. The message says to report the bug, click on that and I get a message to restart. Well, the restart actually RE-loads the page. Rise lather REPEAT. I just upgraded to FF 6.0 but I was getting this with FF 5.0 since I upgraded to KDE4.7 KDE4.7 also saw problems with the interface between FF and Thunderbird. I have problems starting a URL in TB and problems with 'send link' in FF starting up TB. By Problems I mean it works once after I start. I can fire up many links from a message in TB, but as soon as I visit the virtual screen that has FF, if I go back to TB it doesn't work any more.
From FF I get one shot after start-up of using 'send link'.
Yes, I've been though the setup, googled and discussed this with people
on the list. I'm confident the settings are right.
Why am I confident? Why an I reporting this as a 4.7 issue?
If I use Xfce I don't have these problems between FF and TB.
Why don't I use Xfce? Well I prefer KDE :-)
But right now I can't use Xfce because the 4.7 XDM doesn't work.
And yes I've reported that to the list and no-one replied, but when
someone described exactly the same problem I'm having they "fixed" it in
the nvidia driver. Only I'm using ATI not nvidia.

Anton, I solved ALL my flash problems by downloading and installing the Firefox from mozilla and stopped Opensuse from updating it. Earlier I had gone thru the hoops as recommended by opensuse and others to run down all the libflash stuff, unitl the next update. when the Rinse, Repeat set in. Now my FF flash works on every site I try, even ABC. BTW, whenever FF stopped doing flash because of an update, Opera continued to work fine which leads me to believe there's something astray in the opensuse version of FF or the placement of the libflashplayer. This is the same reason I switched to Google Chrome (not to be confused with Chromium), because it installs from Google's own repository and it just automatically works. Chrome contains its own flash plugin helper, which means if Chrome is up to date it will always work with whatever flash is on your system. The same can't be said about the open-source Chromium which always fighting plugins. I find Firefox so slow by comparison that I seldom use it at all any more. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Using the Ati driver, KDE 4.7 and Firefox 5 here, and I have none of these problems. Regards, Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Do you have a 64 bit computer and are you using Flash 10 32 bit with nspluginwrapper? Try the beta of Flash 11 on 64 bit.
