[opensuse] 42.3 Yast User and Group Management doesn't work.
I just tried to create a group in 42.3. When I start User and Group Management, the progress bar stops at 80%, step "Read users and groups" and stays there. This makes it impossible to manage groups & users. This is happening on 2 different computers. Any idea how to get past this? tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Further on this, what I'm trying to do is install pure-FTP on my notebook computer. The default install provides for anonymous connections only, which are not allowed to upload files, create directories etc. Since I need to upload files, I have to create a group and user for pure-FTP. The commands given in the README don't work and I haven't investigated why. So, I was trying to create the group & user in Yast, but that too fails. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hmm, can't reproduce it either, 42.3 with either the qt or curses version. My guess for such hangs would be network timeouts. I looked at them just now. What I see seems to be about network setup, I don't know where the group setup is in the logs. I just tried to create a group in 42.3. When I start User and Group Management, the progress bar stops at 80%, step "Read users and groups" and stays there. This makes it impossible to manage groups & users. This is happening on 2 different computers.
Any idea how to get past this?
tnx jk
