On some wireless chipsets, they have to be reset. If unplugging/replugging doesn't work, then do a rmmod <yourwirelessmodule>; sleep 10; modprobe <yourwirelessmodule>. That actually forces the kernel to reinitialize the driver for your unit, kind of like uninstalling/reinstalling a driver in winders. Except it takes 2 seconds instead of several minutes, and no reboots :) Linc Lincoln Rutledge Network Engineer OSC Networking 800-627-6420 >>> "Matt T." <Matt@boons.net> 12/27/07 12:31 PM >>> On Thursday 27 December 2007, Adinda Praditya wrote: > On Dec 17, 2007 9:39 AM, Matt T. <Matt@boons.net> wrote: > > - Install the rt2x00 module for your kernel; probably a reboot is helpful > > after that > > > > - do not load ndiswrapper, unload it if needed, and make sure it does not > > get loaded when rebooting. I had to disable and enable again wirelss, or even to completely restart networkmanager, dunno anymore. However before I could investigate further, the problem disappeared. There is a chance that my regular upgrades to the latest SuSE released software, including the kernel, did make the problem go away without further effort :) Sorry to have no other advice, it just works and works.
