just for the record, I have an HP printer all in one *not* network capable connected to a very simple netserver (my adsl box from "free" the french ISP).

I can print on it from any 10.3 computer without problem, bt hp-tools don't find it.

I stopped trying to fix this when I notced that this printer have card slots and allow *scanning to card*. When scanning it writes a jpeg directly on any supported card (for me sd card).

Given the scanner/printer is on an other floor, it's much simpler to scan to card than to put the document, scan from the computer and go back take the document :-))

just this capability was not written on the box and I got on it by chance :-))
