[opensuse] Need help installing SAR (without CD)
I have tried copying the packages I need, from CD to a machine, and then ftp'ing it to the Linux server that I need to install it on, but there are so many dependencies, it is starting to drive me crazy. All I need to do, is install SAR, to get performance statistics from a server (but I cannot install it from CD - the server is in another city and I need to ftp the software to that server). There must be a painless way of doing this. How can I do this, without loading the CD's - are there packages that include the dependancies, so that I can just install it all in just one go ? (and do it safely so that I don't affect the existing packages on the server - server belongs to one of our clients). The simplest way is to export the CD's mount point, and nfs mount it on the remote server. Full availability in less than a minute. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks. It's still going to be tricky though. The packages (dependencies) are on different disks. I tried searching for them on my PC, and found them scattered across about 3 or 4 disks. It would have been nice if I could load a package, and its dependencies, from just 1 disk.
