-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Whenever I write a CD-R/CD-RW using xcdroast I cannot read certain CDs - --especially multi-session-- unless and untill I reboot the system. For instance, on one particular CD which has multiple folders written at various times --either together or seperately-- I can only read the very first folder created. This particular CD has roughly four sessions on it. There just has to be a better way than rebooting to put things right. I realize that xcdroast is an alpha but it otherwise seems to work great except for writing multi-session CDs. I am wondering if the two problems might be connected. - -- ...CH Avoid doing business with 'The Link' ISP. I've just created 2 sessions on a CD and I'm able to access both (separate directories) using "ls -lR /media/cdrom" in SuSE 9.0 Pro, but I'm using xcdroast 0.98alpha15 and cdrecord from cdrtools-2.0.1a27, both built from sources. There is an article on the SDB: "Multisession CDROM under Linux" Also, in "man mount" Mount options for iso9660 ... session=x Select number of session on multisession CD. (Since 2.3.4.) sbsector=xxx Session begins from sector xxx. (Since 2.3.4.) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

-- Cheers, Carlos Robinson Many thanks for the resources. :-) What happens if you don't know how many sessions there are?? :-\ Some CDs I haven't written to in months.

I don't know... currently, I only have one multisession CD, and it works without doing anything. I had problems around two years ago (with a CD created in windows), so I only had to look again for "the resources" :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

-- Cheers, Carlos Robinson The problem is that I, too, have CDs created in Windows prior to installing SuSE so I guess I'll have to do some digging in the resources. I also noticed a 'cdinfo' dittie on Packman's site which I haven't yet tried but it seems to promis to give one valuable info.

-- Cheers, Carlos Robinson I did check out the article in SDB and noted that Toshiba is supposed to continue reading, apparently, until the last session. Well... newsflash: I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2312 yet it doesn't read until the end. It only reads the very first session as described in the article. What now!?
