[SuSE Linux] Using a nulmodem to create a network
Hi, I want to use an old 486 as a PostgreSQL server for my windows computer. I don't have a set of network-cards, but i wonder if it is possible to use a nulmodem cable to connect my Linux and my Windows/Linux box. Does anybody know how to get this done? I've was actualy tossing this idea around last night. My plan is to ppp between the machines. If you're interested in this, send me some mail, and I'll keep you updated on how it goes, or if you have success, please let me know how it goes :) --Tony Halsell Vincent de Lau wrote:

If it was too linux machines you could use plip (Parallel Line Internet Protocol) to make a connection. But win 95 and linux you write a driver for win 95 for plip or get two cheap network cards.
