executing a console program from a kde icon
I wrote a short script to log in as root and run the crypto script to mount a an encrypted partition. Now I want to execute this by clicking on an icon, but the kde doc that describe running non-kde programs does not address this. could someone please direct me. --- John Sowden American Sentry Systems. Right click on the desktop and select Create New->Link to Application and fill out the required info. One of the options under the application tab is Advanced Options where you can set it to run as a different user. This will require you to supply the password for that user whenever you click on the icon. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

I can't try right now, but... look up how any menu entry needing root access works, and duplicate it. For example, the one for yast. Or create an entry for kdesu. Or create a launcher, and click "requires terminal". - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFCqC99tTMYHG2NR9URAi6kAJ4p/krOfHFLQhRYJYyzC3x8NXrYqgCeJZzQ Qsae23OKLBRYwY7xKcctQyU= =NR1R -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
