RE: [SLE] Will 7.2 install on a GeForce3 card? Orinoco wireless c lient?
Thanks so much for the reply. This list has always impressed me as the best
support mechanism in my, albeit limited, Linux experience. Based on the
below, I am going to to pick up 7.2.
regards,
Jason.

Yes and yes.
For the geforce3, I'd recommend upgrading to X 4.1.0 (available from
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE
/suse72/) and the latest Nvidia drivers from
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=linux (make sure to pick the SuSE
drivers).
As for the Orinoco, support is right out of the box.

however will I be able to install and run under Xwindows on my geforce3 based system? i know acceleration etc are not going to be there without updating the servers or all of XFree86 but will it work? I have looked pretty extensively at the web sites etc and can't decide what the answer is?
Also, I have a Orinoco based wireless network. Does anyone know if the drivers for this are included with suse 7.2? I think only PCMCIA drivers exists and USB clients are currently unsupported in Linux. Again i have searched without much luck for an answer? -- Avi Schwartz avi@CFFtechnologies.com

I just re-read your question and my reply and I just wanted to clarify one
thing: The Orinoco support IS LIMITED to the PCMCIA cards. I don't think
it will work with the PCI or USB versions.
