Subject: Re: [SLE] resolv.conf vanishes
Maybe this is the solution, just setting this option in rc.config to
"no".
The comment line there says:
# Shall SuSEconfig maintain /etc/resolv.conf (needed for DNS) ?
# If set to yes and one of SEARCHLIST and NAMESERVER is empty,
# it is assumed, that no DNS is wanted and /etc/resolv.conf will
# be deleted. If yes and both are filled out, it will be created.
# "no" leaves /etc/resolv.conf untouched.
But if you start SuSEconfig, it says:
You have modified resolv.conf.
Leaving it untouched.
You will find my version in blablabla.
But I think to remember SuSeconfig wasn't that sensible in older
versions. Maybe this it not fully trusty yet an there a still some
daemons, services or whatever which lookup in rc.config and delete
resolv.conf without any hint or warning.
I'll set it to "no", do an init and hope it lasts now.
Thank you!
