[opensuse] opensuse 13.1 yast create raid - Error : There are not enough suitable unused devices to create a RAID.
I had some time spare, so I was playing with 13.1 and trying to create a RAID1 mirror with Yast - I very rarely do this with Yast, but given that this box has two unpartitioned SATA drives, surely that is sufficient for creating a RAID1 miror? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.1°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Ah, I guess I need to create partitions. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.3°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I stumbled on that same stone myself. Yes, you first have to create some raid partitions, and then YaST allows you to create a raid using them. IMHO, the yast raid module should tell you that or create them itself, or at least guide you to it. Not obvious. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R.
