I noticed when I came in yesterday morning that my email and browser were visible. Since I had performed a YOU without restarting KDE (and I think there were KDE components) I decided to explicitly restart KDE. Screen Saver is set to Start Automatically after 5 minutes. Require password to stop Make aware of power management. The screen saver selected is random. KDE version is 3.4.2. YaST power Management is set to default (Performance). The powersaved daemon is running. This was all working when I performed an upgrade install from SuSE 9.3. In any case, I'm looking for some ideas. When I have a few minutes, I'll change some of the above settings, but meanwhile I'm looking to see if anyone else has had a similar problem either with an upgrade or new install. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9

Now it seems to work where I unchecked "Make aware of power management".

I noticed that the "lbreakout" game breaks my KDE screensaver. It definitely does in SuSE 8.2, and I seem to recall it also doing this in 9.3 . It would be interesting to know why. Peter Taylor
