SuSE 8.0 : How to tell if Truetype is installed ?
Hello, I'm running SuSE 8.0, how do I tell if TrueType is installed? Where can I go to learn more about the ins and outs of TrueType on SuSE (or Linux in general)? Thanks so much. Cheers, Douglass Turner email: turner@mmedia.is

'xlsfonts' lists all fonts installed on a server. The file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/fonts.scale will lists all font names and styles available for a specific tt font file. Find the file you want to know is installed and search for it's strings. The output of xlsfonts is all lower case. The fonts.scale has case changes so search the output of xlsfonts without regarding case: xlsfonts | grep -i "font_string" Info for ttf fonts: /usr/share/doc/packages/freetype/* -- Marc Christensen http://www.mecworks.com/~marc/resume/ http://counter.li.org/cgi-bin/runscript/display-person.cgi?user=9502
