[opensuse] Wireless network problems still
I have tried a number of things to stop the incessant beeping from the wireless network card when it drops the link and acquires it again. Nuting the speaker, plugging in head phones, etc. does no good and volume control has no effect. Tried some mods to ifplud config file with absolutely no effect. Here is the info from /var/log/messages file Feb 6 06:30:24 linux-latitude ifplugd(eth1)[6205]: Link beat lost. Feb 6 06:30:25 linux-latitude ifplugd(eth1)[6205]: Link beat detected. This continues about every 10 seconds.and was going this morning when I came into work. This occured about 5 times last night for several minutes each time. I can stop it by executing ifplugd -i eth1 -k then start it again with ifplugd -i eth1, then route add default gw 192.168.11.1. The route del default gw 10.18.32.1 seems to hold without having to redo it. Here is what I get in the /var/log/messages file when I execute the commands above. Notice the DHCP lease time is infinit. If I execute /etc/init.d/network restart Feb 6 08:55:19 linux-latitude ifplugd(eth1)[6205]: Executing '/etc/ifplugd/ifplugd.action eth1 down'. Any other suggestions on how to stop this beepeing would be most welcome. Would also like to get the eth1 interface to come up automatically but need to get this beeping stopped first.
